Technical Support Assistant

The Role:

Recruit Mint have the pleasure of working alongside a reputable company who are looking for a unique individual who can support a team of 14 members of staff with every element of the process. This includes Admin, spec writing, complaints and much more.


  • To liaise with suppliers and retailer customers to develop and modify product specifications ensuring that they meet with the specified legal and customer requirements and are right first time including:
    • Generation of pack copy specifications to drive the artwork process for redesigns and new product launches.
    • Full completion of all sections of each specification, including QCP’s, CCP’s and finished product standards.  Attachment of all required documentation
    • Maintenance of existing specifications through a review program ensuring that all specifications are reviewed within the agreed timescales (e.g. during each season and prior to any customer audit).
  • To provide support and assistance to our consumer relations department tasks including;
    • Inputting of complaints received from various customer.
    • Sending foreign bodies to suppliers for analysis.
    • Assisting with supplier invoicing for complaints received.
    • Ensuring retailer invoices match complaints received.
  • To provide general support to colleagues within the Technical Department,
    • Packaging and sending samples on behalf of the Technical Manager and NPD Manager to customers
    • Suppliers and for analysis          
    • Support the Technical Manager in preparation for SCAMR’s, Consistency Panels and other customer sampling session, through the collection of samples and completion of paperwork.
    • To contribute to the business Quality Management System
    • To create and maintain Technical Product Folders for all lines supplied
    • To create and maintain product attribute sheets as required by the customer, including taking photographs and ensuring a traffic light system for each product is maintained and agreed with the relevant Technical Manager and customer.
    • Completion of traceability and product recall tests using SAP as required.

Person Specification:

  • Proven customer support experience or experience as a client service representative.
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Hours and Pay:

  • Monday – Friday (37.5 hours) either 08.00 – 16.30 or 08.30 – 17.00 or 09.00 – 17.30
  • Pension
  • 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays and 1 day a year up to 25 days
  • Free parking
  • £16,000 - £20,000 per annum
