Account Manager

The Role:

Your role will see you working on new leads, obtaining additional discounts from existing suppliers and working to fix product issues such as not being competitive or carrying too much stock. Whilst the role is termed sales, it encompasses both sales and buying skill sets. Selling our services and capabilities to suppliers in order to achieve greater margins and exclusive distribution agreements. You will have a hardworking, no-nonsense attitude and be able to deal with information at volume. Being able to pick up new IT skills and having good IT experience is also essential. Strong relationship building skills are critical.

You will be joining our sales/product team that is solely responsible for new product intake and ongoing management of the product, brand and supplier. The team is currently 4 people. However, this is expected to increase rapidly over the start of 2018 to meet our growth and expansion targets. 100% of your time will be spent building relationships with suppliers to open, progress and develop our relationships with them in order to obtain profitable purchase prices for the business in what is largely regarded as one of the most competitive landscapes on the planet!

Responsibilities:

  • Actively searching for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximising client potential
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profits
  • Going out to market to source products to fit the business needs
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
  • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas for improvement to meet sales quotas
  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
  • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed
  • Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs

Hours and Pay:

  • Monday to Friday 09.00 – 17.30
  • Free parking
  • Pension
  • 23 days holiday going up to 25 with each year of service completed + 8 bank holidays
  • £25,000 - £35,000 per annum
